Panerai Submersible: Pure Italian Military Style
Panerai's collaboration with the Italian Navy dates back to 1910. Now, the brand once again partners with the Italian Naval Aviation (Aviazione Navale) to launch the new Submersible 44mm Marina Militare Automatic Watch PAM01697.
This timepiece features a 44mm brushed 316LVM-1.4441 stainless steel case, paired with a matte ceramic bezel and a green canvas strap, reinforcing the watch's military aesthetic.
The green matte grained dial, with a black gradient effect, is inspired by the flight suits and helmets of Italian Naval Aviation pilots.
As a military-style watch, this timepiece features 20% wider applied hour markers and a 45% larger Super-LumiNova® luminous coating on the hands and hour markers, ensuring legibility in low-light conditions.
In terms of details, the small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock borrows from radar displays and cleverly incorporates the anchor-shaped insignia of the Italian Naval Aviation. Meanwhile, the Marina Militare logo is printed at the 6 o'clock position on the dial.
The brand's iconic crown guard is engraved with "REG." and "T.M." This timepiece continues the Submersible series' tradition of excellent performance, with a water resistance of 30 bar (approximately 300 meters).
A stainless steel trapezoidal pin buckle paired with a green canvas strap with matching stitching ensures excellent durability while echoing the military style. An additional black rubber strap is also included.
Turning to the back, the screw-down stainless steel case back is engraved with the winged insignia of the Italian Naval Air Force, reinforcing the collaboration and heritage. Beneath the case back is the Panerai P.900 automatic movement with a 72-hour power reserve.
