YouTube Vanced was an altered version of the YouTube app that offered premium-like features including ad-blocking, background playback, and AMOLED dark mode. The project was, however, officially canceled in 2022 because of legal pressure from Google. Official sources no longer offer the original app for download since then. Users seeking comparable functionality can seek out ReVanced, which is an open-source continuation of Vanced. To install ReVanced, you have to download ReVanced Manager from its official GitHub website, install MicroG (if you wish to sign in), and patch the official YouTube APK. Because ReVanced is not pre-built, users have to manually apply patches through the Manager app. Always download from trusted sources to prevent malware and for security purposes. Some other modded YouTube clients also exist, but they are not as reliable.
